Back in my bond analyst days, I took Level I of the CFA exam and bombed it. To be fair, it’s notoriously difficult, and I also happened to become pregnant at the time. The thought of that exam still makes me shudder.
In fact, instead of taking it again, I earned my MBA while the rest of my team continued to study for and pass their CFA exams. It turns out my strengths were never in analyzing bonds. They were in building teams, improving processes, and implementation.
